- I was living in the lovely sea side town of Hikari in Japan. I had the most wonderful time over two years. I feel so lucky to have shared so many special times with friends and families. I am now home in Melbourne. I have gone back to work and enjoy teaching in a local primary school. I originally come from a small town 2 hours from Melbourne in Australia. One day love to be a travel photographer. I really don't want to stop travelling. Watchout world!

Suika Bar is THE BEST THING in Japan. Ellen - did I introduce you to the suika bar??
It's a watermelon flavoured, watermelon shaped popsicle and it's only available in the warmer months. Usually appears around May-June and disappears around late August.
If you are a true devotee of the suika bar you buy about 30 or 40 of them at the end of Summer, fill up your feezer and ration them one a week until they reappear again the next year.

i thought suika bar was some cool cafe that serves suika everything...then i remembered we are in japan and cool cafes like that only really exist in my dreams
