Music to my ears

I am so excited. Last night I was driving home with my window down and I heard the first frog calls of spring. As Cindi knows, this makes me very happy. I am sure the amagaeru (rain frog pictured to the left - not my own pic) will be here in the next rainfall.

Note : a Japanese man told me Japanese people and foreign people have different ears. He said that insect noises are just that, noise to us, but the sounds of lovely nature to Japanese. I didn't agree with him but I laughed just the same. He went on to explain how Japanese are at one with nature.

it's comments like that that drive me crazy. Especially when they tell me I'm crazy because I like to sit by the stream by my house and pretend it's a babbling brook :)
Happy Frogs Ellen! They are here in Ato and it should be just a matter of time before they reach you down south

We have different eyes too, our weird coloured eyes prevent us from being able to see the true beauty in black and white prints!! Obviously we have different intestines too, and...., and...., (I need to go home before I let these comments really get to me!). I don't especially like frogs, but that picture is kind of cute!

Yesterday at one of my elementary schools the 3rd graders caught a little frog just like your picture. They were making a pool for it in the sink in the hallway.

P.S. If they are so one with nature, why is there CEMENT EVERYWHERE! And when exactly do they take time from their "isogashi" lives to enjoy this nature???? Outside of planned festivals that is....okay enough ranting, it is only 10 am.
